* As a result, our emotional and mental pain keep us from seeing and experiencing the beauty and wonders that every single moment holds for us. * The truth is that we all long for a loving and appreciative relationship with ourselves and with our loved ones. Most of all we want Peace and Harmony in our lives, and when we enjoy it, it ripples out to our community into the whole world.
The Solution * What I have seen is that the best ways to bring Peace and Harmony to ourselves and in our relationships are: 1) Learn and use the "Art of Listening Well", an 8-week course. 2) Integrate and harmoniously balance all aspects of our being, i.e. body, mind, emotions and spirit. 3) Delete all our negative emotions and programmings from our energy field with the revolutionary and short-term therapy called EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). 4) Nourish our body with whole foods and beverages to maintain it at a high level of healthy functioning. 5) Safe time by practising Yoga, breathing techniques and deep relaxation. How this is done As a Counselling Therapist, my work is to provide a haven of peace and safety for my clients. I can show you how to replace the broken, boring and negative messages that play again and again in your mind with a new song that finally sounds true to the core of your being and resonates within you with a vibrant YES ... A YES TO LIFE AND ITS WONDERS. Wholeness is the outcome that awaits you, a state of being when body, mind, emotions and spirit connect and interconnect like a team of caring friends, all aiming towards your happiness, peace, joy, creativity and a sense of fulfillment. I experienced the constant fear of living during wartime and I also remember the amazing relief one feels when Peace is there again: This was a totally unknown experience for me ... I could virtually breathe freely again. My lung and respiratory problems disappeared miraculously! But then, I experienced the fears and insecurity of war in my own family. Again, I had to remain quiet for my own safety as I had no right to express my feelings and could just be a witness to the fights between my parents and between my father and older sister. I became an exceptional silent observer not only in my family but also outside in the world. That is when I noticed with amazement that adults never really listened to each other. I could see and feel the gap of separateness among people, how everyone needed to be heard, but how there was nobody there to give them their undivided attention, as everyone had the same need ... the need to share, to be understood, to be accepted, to be appreciated, to be loved. This is the thread that has led me in my life: my search to connect with people at a deeper level and to find ways to feel peaceful within myself and with others. The journey has been a long adventure that took me to almost all European countries, plus India and South Africa. I was passionate in listening to the melody of each language, to the way people lived and atmosphere of different places. The most important discovery for me was that although countries look differently, languages sound differently, people do not look alike and have different cultures, different ways of living, different values, ALL of the people I came in contact with had absolutely the same needs, i.e. a roof over their head, food to eat, water to drink, to be loved, respected and accepted just the way they were and the great need to be heard an seen. They just loved to have all my attention, and I just loved knowing everything about their lives. Because I have always been considered a foreigner in every country I lived, I never had the feeling of belonging to any one specific country. I wished there were no borders between countries, because borders create a sense of separateness, and a sense of nationalism that makes one feel either superior or inferior in comparison to other countries. The good side of all of this is that I always considered myself as World Citizen and that gave me a sense of connectedness with everyone on this planet. My life took a major turn when I learned about the philosophy and practice of Yoga (at a critical time in my marriage). When I stepped over that threshold my whole life changed. I felt I had come home! Suddenly everything made sense to me. I became a certified Yoga Teacher and Therapist after seven years of training. From there I acquired a series of different skills that kept enriching the ways that I could support my students and clients on their own journey towards health and a more holistic harmonious life. A few of the healing tools I learned are : Refloxology, Body Massage Therapy, Dance Therapy, Conflicts Resolution, Co-Counseling, Hypnotherapy, Energy Healing (Reiki), Somatic Experiencing (Trauma Therapy), Holistic Harmony Life Coaching, and lately the phenomenal Emotional Freedom Techniques. I feel my journey is not yet finished. I still want to share the key towards living a more loving and harmonious life with as many people as I can. I want this to be my legacy ... my contribution to creating Peace in the world. I now live in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, where I have a private practice. I draw on all my diverse training to offer short-term therapy sessions for those who wish to regain their sense of peace and their ability to reconnect with themselves and with others. I also offer a workshop called "The Art of Listening Well", along with a series of mini-courses for couples who want to restore or enhance a sense of Peace and Love in their relationships.
