Yet, in some cases, such actions might undermine the child¹s inner resources as the child is not allowed to experience his or her own inner creative power, and thus, is likely to doubt it. Such actions stem from the belief that our children are incapable of surviving without our help. Most religious texts promise that all we need will be provided as long as we align ourselves with the benefit of the whole. If we had more faith in the divine and our loved ones, our money and time could be better directed toward social works which would better the condition of society as a whole. Also, this type of thinking is based on a restricted concept of family, that only those who are related to us by blood are our family. This is a limited view of who we really are. As our sense of family begins to include more and more beings, we will manifest a much more beautiful reality for all of us. CONTACT WITH OUR INNER VOICE We will need to develop a deeper contact with our inner voice through prayer, silence, and meditation. When our minds are cleared of the various issues, needs and fears, we will hear the "small voice" of inner wisdom. We know, within ourselves, the role that we have come to play, but we are too full of others¹ opinions to hear ourselves. We would do well to take a few days retreat each year in order to get in touch with our deeper feelings, needs and values.
