EX. 24. LEARNING TO LOVE OUR SELVES
We put many conditions on accepting and loving ourselves. This exercise helps us discover those conditions and overcome them.
a. Make a list of phrases that start with the phrase ... "I will love myself when....." try to find at least ten answers, such as when I loose some weight, when I succeed in that effort, when I stop smoking, when I overcome my anger etc.
b. Now go back and rewrite each phrase stating... "I love myself now exactly as I am in this stage of my growth process" (without having fulfill the above prerequisites).
c. Now read the second list, which you made in part b. to your partner as you look into his or her eyes and believe what you are saying.
d. Change roles and listen to your partner's affirmations.
e. Share how you felt making and listening to these statements.
