Back To Index J. 20. HARMONIZING THE ENERGY CENTERS
There are seven centers of bio-energy or centers of consciousness which are like control centers in our bodies. They affect all the organs and cells of our body and also our emotional and mental sites. There is a whole science behind the awakening and harmonizing of these centers, which require various preparatory procedures such as purification of the body through fasting and proper diet, and harmonization of our emotional life. For this reason I will not include here the techniques available for working with these energy centers. I will include a simple technique which can be useful to all for harmonizing the higher centers. This should not be done for more than five minutes without the guidance of a teacher. (Not including the time required to establish the state of relaxation). Concentrate on your forehead and relax it. Imagine it like a flower which is opening. Now let your concentration come down into your throat. Feel a relaxation there and an opening. Then move down into your "heart center" in the center of your chest. Feel a sensation of opening there, as if a hole is opening up. Now let your attention move back to the point in you upper back which is behind your heart center. Relax that area. Now let your attention move upwards to the back of the neck, and relax that area. Let your attention flow up the back of your head and rest on the top of your skull. Relax that area. Move down to the center of the forehead and feel deeper relaxation and opening. Move down to the throat, then to the heart center, then back to the center of the upper back, and then up into the back of the neck stopping at each point and relaxing each area. Continue in this way up to the top of the head and down to the forehead each time relaxing that area more deeply. Do this moving down the front of the body and up the back of the body between the chest and the top of the head continuously for about five minutes. Do not surpass this limit without the guidance of a teacher. If you feel unusual symptoms doing even less than five minutes discontinue the practice, and consult a person experienced in these matters. OTHER POSSIBILITIES There are infinite possibilities for various other techniques while in the state of deep relaxation. These are some which are simpler and most beneficial for self-healing. Others which are also extremely beneficial for self-healing are the SIMULATED DEATH EXPERIENCE and REGRESSIONS INTO PAST LIVES. As both of these require expert guidance there is no reason to include them here. I encourage you to use your intuition to select which techniques are most beneficial to you at this stage of your development and use them on a daily basis. Eventually you can try out various techniques. Work on each one for a reasonable amount of time. If you can find an experienced guide to help you in the beginning this would be very useful. |
