Today more and more is being recognized and understood about the healing power of music. In ancient times this was considered an obvious fact, and was used extensively in various mystery schools for stimulating certain physical and emotional forces in the body and mind. Select the type of music which has a positive effect on you and enter into a deep relaxation as you listen to it. If you need time to enter into relaxation you can let the tape be empty for the first ten or fifteen minutes depending on how long you need to get into that altered state of consciousness. Let the music flow into you. Start to listen with other parts of your body. Imagine the music entering into your feet - imagine your feet are like ears which are able to accept sound vibrations. Listen with all parts of your body, your shins, thighs, buttocks, lower back, abdomen, chest, neck, upper back, arms, your face and forehead and top of your head. By this time you will feel that your body has dissolved and that you have become one with the music, that you are the music. This will stimulate various strong feelings. You may feel joy, or pain, or love. You may feel the need to laugh or to cry. You may feel deep peace in all your being. In any case, negative and positive feelings might be evoked and energies will flow and be balanced. This is especially useful to those who are blocked in expressing their feelings.
